DELL Inspiron 630m Audio Drivers for Windows 2003 Server

Hi all,
 
I need audio drivers for DELL Inspiron 630m for Windows 2003 Server.

You have to use the XP driver. Here is how you do that.

1. Enable (auto startup) Windows Audio Service. (This should be already enabled in 2003 Standard edition). For other versions:

Go to Start/Run and type Services.msc followed by enter. The Services window will appear. Scroll down until you find "Windows Audio". Double click on Windows Audio and change the startup type to Automatic, then Apply, Start, OK.

2. Download and install the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 KB901105 update from this Microsoft page:

3. Restart.

4. Install the Sigmatel audio driver for Windows XP:

XP drivers for XPS M140/630m


If you still have trouble installing it use WinXP compatibility mode.

5. Adjust hardware acceleration:

Click on Start/Run and type dxdiag and click OK. Go to the Sound tab and move the slider on "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level" to Full Acceleration.
