DVD Writer gives unusual sound even though it is empty.

I bought my laptop DELL 3543 two months before. It gives sound (sound like, when press the open button of the DVD writer) every 30 minutes, even though it is empty. I think it is unusual. Is it a hardware fault of Laptop ??
