Dead Inspiron 1545

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 which I bought in December 2008 that was fine for about a year. I then got a virus I couldn't get rid of which somehow disabled my network card and I wasn't able to connect to any wifi. After about 6 months of this happening, the laptop stopped charging when plugged in, the led's on the charger stayed lit for a while, but after about a month they stopped turning on. Now my laptop is dead after losing all power and I have a cd trapped in the disk drive. Any ideas what to do or should i scrap itand buya new one?
