Dell Diagnostics: IDE Disk Read & Verify Test Error
I have been getting frequent blue screens on my Inspiron 8600. I ran the Dell Diagnostics & got 2 errors:
IDE Disk Read Test - Error code 0F00:0244 Msg block 56287355 Uncorrectable data error or media is write protected
IDE Disk Verify Test - Error code 0F00:0144 Msg block 56287355 Uncorrectable data error or media is write protected

The hard drive has developed bad sectors and should be replaced immediately.
You need: 2.5", 9.5 mm EIDE (NOT SATA) notebook drive, 120G or smaller.
