Dell Duo 1090 Tablet Touch Screen disabled

I upgraded my Dell Duo 1090 to a legal copy of Windows 8 (technically unsupported by Dell).  It worked fine for months and then suddenly the following happened:

 - Touch screen disabled

 - Pen and Touch Setting missing from Control Panel

 - No Calbration settings

Any ideas?

Thanks

FYI in case anyone has this issue.  Dell determined that this was a hardware problem, and had me sent in the unit for an expensive screen replacement.  They had already replaced the screen once as the screen was physically damaged when something landed on it.  I couldn't prove to them that the replaced screen was not properly installed. and had to pay again.

Words of advice - do not leave your hybrid laptops closed with the screen exposed.
