Dell Inspiron 1501 - problem with 8GB RAM

Please help me:

I had 2x 2GB sticks of Apacer RAM, than I wanted to upgrade to 2x 4GB Crucial. But after booting  I had problem with noise and lines all over my screen...  I tried also 2+4GB mode, everything works fine, but Everest benchmark has shown not as good results as in 2x2GB mode. What should I do, to make it work with 8 GB of RAM?

My specs are: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, 263 BIOS, AMD Sempron 2000 MHz, 480 GB Kingston SSD, ATI Radeon Xpress 1150, latest possibe graphic card driver (10-2_legacy_vista32-64_dd_ccc)

No, there are some users of Inspiron 1501 with 8 GB here in this forum...

This system does not support 8G of RAM -- if you can get 2+4 working (6 total) that's beyond what it was designed for.  You're lucky that works!

Wikipedia is often wrong - which is it, in this case.

It was designed to work with 8 GB: "With BIOS 2.6.3, it is capable of utilizing 8 GB with a 64-bit operating system." And I have both of it - BIOS 2.6.3 and 64-bit Windows...

(Dell Inspiron 1501) Actually,it will,with a 64 bit operating system. I've installed a  AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-66 2.3 GHz Dual-Core Processor,along with 8gb. ram,and Zorin/Linux OS,and it's quick. Bio's must  be 2.6.3 for this to work. Dell horribly underrated  this board.
