Dell Inspiron 1545 Issue dealing with charger and or battery

First off, Thank you for taking the time to read this on Thanksgiving, and I wish everyone a good one!

My Inspiron 1545 is  roughly 2 years old, and it has been good up until this point, this morning I went to get on the computer when I realized it was not turning on. I first checked the charger to see if it was plugged in, and it was, however the blue light that is on charger was not on like it usually is. This leads me to believe the problem is either the charger or the battery itself.

If the charger is not plugged into the computer the light will be on and blue, the usual color it is, however when you plug it into the computer the light will turn off and make a subtle click noise.

Is this something to do with the battery, the charger, or something in the computer like the motherboard?

Hi Cruzwilll,

Happy Thanks giving to you too. It looks like the problem is with the motherboard as the light on the adapter goes off when the adapter is connected to the computer.

To check if the computer is in warranty I request you to private message the system service tag number. To private message, accept my friend request; click on my user name and click start conversation.

You can also check warranty status of the computer online by clicking on the link below: http://dell.to/zEE2Cm

In case of expired warranty scenario, we would not be able to extend warranty entitled services.

If the warranty on the computer has expired, below link would help you in contacting expired warranty services (this is for US based customers):http://dell.to/4LOBWi

Please post the results.
