Dell Inspiron 1545, help with hard drive trouble/possible failure
After turning off the laptop and going past the Dell screen (F2 and F12 options screen) I get a black screen with text that says "no hard drive detected, try reseating the
drive." I reseated the drive (assuming reseating in this situation is unscrewing the screws, sliding the drive out, and putting it back in) and the problem persists.
Any help is appreciated.

If your hard drive can not be detected in the BIOS then the hard drive has failed and you will need to replace the drive.

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:
I'm inclined to agree, but are you able to run the Dell diagnostics, to see if you can get confirmation?

Ran the diagnostics and it said everything was fine, drive was still undetected, gave up and getting a replacement from dell, thanks anyway.
