Hi Jordan Lzarov
Thanks for writing to us.
I7 processors are not tested on this laptop.
Following are the ones which are tested and are sure to work
I5-520M :: part # N14CN
I5-430M:: part# DD23V
I5-540M :: part# 564CD
Regards

The quads won't work - -they draw too much power. Further, they have no onboard video - if your system has Intel integrated video, they won't replace your i3, which has integrated video.

Thank you very much for the answer!
is that mean the i7 640M will work correctly? It has two cores and video and 35W power like i3. The difference is only Graphics Max Dynamic Frequency 766 MHz vs 667 MHz and Processor Base Frequency 2.8 GHz Max Turbo Frequency 3.46 GHz vs 2.13 GHz on i3.

Since it appears the system never shipped with an i7 CPU, the best you can do is try it -- it may or may not work, but no one can make a guarantee.
If you're still running the system on a conventional hard drive, an SSD is a better upgrade than any CPU you can install.
