Dell Inspiron 1720 blinking lights error. What does it mean?
Hi. Few days ago My laptop start to not turning on. I have replaced ram but it desnt help.
I have blinking light. When I am turning laptop on, POWER LED turn on and turn off after 4-5 sec, after this BATTERY LED turning on and off after 1 sec. When I am turning on laptop holding FN key, hapends the same but in meantime NUM LOCK, CAPS LOCK and SCR LOCK is turning on and off after 5 sec.
Can You tell me what's the problem? I can't find error codes for this laptop anywhere.

If all three LEDs are blinking in unison, it's a bad mainboard.

You can also use following steps to fix your issue:
Method 1:remove the battery then press
power button to drain all the current
then resit battery and plug to adapter
Method 2:Also, you do want to measure the Voltage on the barrel connector and see what your voltage is. As for" push the charger in harder to make it work my laptop shuts off." it does sound like a bad DC jack. you may have to disassemble your Dell and see if the board is cracked on the DC jack or if it is the solder that has cracked.
