Dell Inspiron 3537 Memory Upgrade

I have a Dell Inspiron 3537 and I bought a memory upgrade (G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 PC3-12800).

When I install both 8gb sticks the laptop wont boot, and it makes a repeating sound through what seems like an internal speaker.

Any idea why the sticks will not work...the specs for the memory upgrade seems to be alright, even though I notice that when I removed the original memory sticks it says on the PC board that it supports ddr3L.

Is ddr3L backwards compatible with ddr3?

Sometimes, DDR3L will work in place of DDR3 -- depends on the board design.  The reverse is not true though - you cannot use DDR3 in place of DDR3L.  If you're getting a 2- or 4-beep pattern, the memory is not compatible with your system.

Hi there i have dell Inspiron 15 3537 also and i change the memory ram.. For what i know the mother board of dell Inspiron 3537 only support DDR3L which they said has a difference in voltage compare to DDR3. (L) stands for Low voltage 1.25v 1.35v.. DDR3 has 1.5v....
