Dell Inspiron 5160 does not recoginise power adaptor
Afteer seeing all the posts for this 5160 problem, I will not waste too much time but............
My machine is about 4 years old. Of course it is out of warranty. Live in the UK and only use a bit for web browsing etc.
Only have about 25 mins battery life left and the flippin thing flatly refuses to recharge using the AC adaptor bought with the machine
Would it be a waste of money buying a new AC 130 adaptor, The mention of replacing mother boartds sounds very teccie a\nd potentially expensive!
Or should I just put the machine into the crazy paving in my garden now and not waste any more time or money?
Here's hoping!

It's more likely that just the battery is dying. If it works with the adapter, just use it that way. You can even remove the battery and use just the adapter. If it works, fine. If it doesn't, buy a new computer. Replacing the battery ($130 or more) or the adapter would be a waste of money and still might not work. Save it for a new computer.
