Dell Inspiron 7520 chiclet keyboard problem

Recently bought a inspiron 7520. One key  has strange behavior. I can't  see '  and  "  till i press the space bar or else i have to type it twice and give a backspace. Dell's chiclet design is a total failure afa user experience is concerned. it's too bouncy n sometimes u hit left shift n caps lock turns on automatically.Mine is 2 months old.

Already been to service center, in the first place, their focus is not how to serve you better, but how to convince you.  Dell India sucks...

Hi BALAJI p,

To try resolving this issue, you can try releasing the flea power on your computer and then update the BIOS, Chipset and touchpad drivers. Please follow the steps to release the flea power.

Switch off the system; remove the battery, ac adapter and the power cable. Press and hold down the power button for thirty seconds to drain any excess flea power if this does not work,  Please use the link below to download the drivers.

http://dell.to/QhSAkG  Chipset

http://dell.to/SJQ3Uk   Touchpad

Please update the above drivers in your laptop, restart the system when the each driver is installed. After installing the drivers if the same problem persists, you may have to replace the keyboard.

Please do reply for further assistance.

Hi BALAJI p,

You can try whether the keyboard is working properly in the command prompt in repair your computer option. Please follow the steps below.

Restart the computer, tap F8 key at the Dell logo. Select ‘Repair your computer’ > login with the admin password> select command prompt, On the black window type all the characters in the keyboard and check for functionality.
