Dell Inspiron N5110 Hard Drive 0

Hi ,

I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 purchased in 2012 . It has suddenly stopped working and shows error message :

Error Code :2000-0142

Msg: Hard Drive 0 - S/N S2WADMNW , self test unsuccessful. Status = 7

Please can someone tell me where I should go or whom to contact to het this fixed ?

Hello!  It looks like your hard drive is/has gone bad.  You will need to replace it.  Depending on where you live, there should be computer repair shops in your city/town that can help you.  Dell might be able to do it but it would cost a bit more as your computer is more then likely out of warranty.

To contact Dell for out of warranty repair, see

www.dell.com/.../out-of-warranty

it's $159 for a hard drive replacement -- probably close to what you'll pay just about anywhere due to the extensive labor required to change the N5110 drive.
