Dell Studio 1737 keyboard connector latch

Has anyone ever replaced the connector latch for the keyboard ribbon cable connector on the system board? The ends of mine broke and I hate to have to replace the system board just for a busted connector latch. If so, where did you find a replacement latch (Dell doesn't offer as a replacement part)? Did you have any difficulty installing (it appears to just slide into the pin connector)?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Look for someone selling an otherwise dead board on EBay for a few dollars and salvage the latch from it.

Hi condor723,

Are you referring to the keyboards ZIF (Zero insertion Force) connector on the motherboard?

If so, we replace the motherboard for these issues. We do not repair motherboards.

You may try to get the part fixed at a local electronis store.

Also, you may wait for other responses in the forum.
