Dell Vostro 5470 problem with GT 740M on Windows 8.1 64-bit
Hi,
I've bought a Vostro 5470 couple days ago.After installing Windows 8.1 64-bit and all drivers listed in 5470 driver's page, everything is working fine except the Nvidia GT 740M. I tried many versions of driver including those from Geforce official site but none of them worked. When I tried to open the Nvidia control panel, it said something like "You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU"
Only Intel HD Graphic is currently working now.
Are there any solutions for this?? Please help.

Worked like a charm! Thanks, I was in a loop trying to reinstall Windows 8.1, Drivers and so on and just nothing worked. So updated the bios firmware BAM! Thanks again.

which version worked?
Bios FW: A09?
I was installed bios at first after windows installation so did not have this problem.

I swear to god I've spent the past 56 hours non stop formatting and reinstalling drivers and going crazy and until I stumbled upon the wisest words I have ever heard "update BIOS".
Epic facepalm that I tried everything but this. Thank you thank you thank you. I'm in love with life.

hi
i have same problem
with bios ver A11
i can't install 740m nvidia driver :(
i tried version from dell and nvidia website
still no driver for 740m
help please

Do not update with BIOS version A12.
I did that and this issue happened again! I had to downgrade to version A11 to have the GT 740M working again.
