Dell Webcam Central Problem.

We have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop with a built in webcam, and when I go to open the web cam, I get a error message saying "Please plug in a supported web cam." It has been like this for a few months.  I have seen that a lot of people have this problem, and they say when you plug in a USB mouse while the web cam is open it works. I have tried that, and it doesn't work for me.  I have also tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it with the disk that came with the laptop, and that still doesn't work.  And when I go to the dell support drivers & devices page where you can supposedly download it from there.  It's not there, anywhere.  I don't know what else to do, if anyone knows a solution to my problem please help.
