Dell Windows Recovery Image
I use a Inspiron 7359 2-in-1.
Tried to download the Dell windows recovery image from dell web site.
The iso file is said to be arround 4.9gb in size.
But, in two attempts, the download stopped at 400mb and 750mb.
As I understand, my internet connection is reasonably OK.
The dell site says the download is complete.
But, when I checked the file size on disk, is 400mb in first instance and 750mb in the second instance.
I like to keep the Dell Windows recovery image, as rercently I experienced an issue following an auto OS update. (The battery was not charging). Anyway, that issue is likely to be due to not keeping the drivers up to date, prior to OS update.
I like to keep a recovery image with me, to be used, just in case, if my laptop gives me trouble again.
I'd be much thankful, if somebody could help me, in solving this issue.
Regards,
Anuradha

The Dell Recovery .iso is just a Windows 10 TH2 (10586) build. It is out of date with respect to the Windows 10 RS1 build (14393) and has no additional drivers inbuilt. More details here:

The Dell .iso is larger in size as its multilingual. I recommend using the RS1 .iso from Microsoft:

Hi Philip,
I appreciate your reply.
I guess I'm not that knowledgeable on IT.
So, I was looking what is TH2 and RS1.
Then I found this.
"Oh, also when I check for updates, I keep getting the same Windows defender updates, but not the rs2 Anniversary update. Have not gotten the Anniversary update (rs2). I still have 10586.494 build.
Last time I gotten the rs1_build 14393.10 in which my touchscreen stopped working.. Had to revert back to 10586.494 as a result. Is there a touchscreen version of the rs2 Anniversary build?"
Could you comment on that.
By the way, I too have a touch screen.
Dell model is Inspiron 7359 2-in-1.
Thanks,
Anuradha

Maybe I should explain in more detail.... as it seems you've just found the first google search where someone had a problem.
Windows 10 RS2 is currently an Insider Preview its currently at build number 14986 and probably due to be released in February or March.
The mainstream Windows 10 builds are:
Version xxyy where xx stands for the year and yy stands for the month.
In the past Microsoft used to use the term "Service Pack". They seemed to have taken a dislike to this word despite it making much more sense to us end users however if they continued to use it:
All Windows 10 mainstream builds should work fine with a touchscreen. My Inspiron 7347 and Latitude 7350 touchscreens work fine.
Windows 10 RS2 is in the works its designated the Creator's Update. It'll likely be version 1702. Its available as a pre-release Insider Preview (meaning its in testing and it'll be buggy):
Clean installs of the latest mainstream builds of Windows 10 always lead to superior performance. The issue you quoted may have been due to a driver issue from an upgrade install from TH2 → RS1.
RS1 had a few bugs on launch mainly due to webcams but these have now been fixed.
