Dell XPS 13 9333 screen fade since Windows 10 Pro Anniversary upgrade

Since upgrading Windows 10 Pro to with the Anniversary update my screen sort of changes tint from light to a sort of yellow tint...  The image stays clear and does not flicker...  I think I have seen this before due to Windows/Intel trying to adjust the brightness of the display to save power - although this might not be the cause of my problem...  Things were perfect before the anniversary update, anyone else seen this?  Thanks, Peter

Hi PETERWBAKER,

As of late, we have seen cases where there are issues after the Win 10 Anniversary Update.

Connect an external monitor and check if the display is fine.

Reset color calibration and check - http://bit.ly/2brotwg

Rollback Win 10 Anniversary edition if required, for a while - http://bit.ly/1KYK4Wt | http://bit.ly/1Jvhazt

Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email) for case records.

Let us know if you have any other queries.

Tried the color calibration reset - no difference.

Have sent a PM with my machine details/TAG and contact info.

Thanks in advance, Peter

Hi, got these two updates from the support assist program today:-

Video_Driver_565CR_WN32_20.19.15.4463_A04.EXE

9333_Chipset_Driver_5WK64_WN_9.5.14.1724_A00.EXE

Previous version of the driver I had from August was Video_Driver_X6RJN_WN32_20.19.15.4300_A02

Just for info, Peter

Oh dear, I think this actually made it worse, as well as the screen brightness still changing/not fixed now on some occasions when in Windows dialogue boxes the text flickers...  Peter

Please don't archive this case as it is not fixed yet and I have an understanding how support systems work:-) This is a recent machine with the latest operating system installed and it is not working...

When can we expect an update to this please?  Is there a central case here or at Intel I can monitor?

Thanks in advance, Peter

Hi All, in case someone has the same problem as me and has subscribed to the thread here is what made a difference to my machine.  I would not have got here without the help and persistence of Rishi at Dell "hats off" to them :-)

Download the Intel driver from Intel site -  http://intel.ly/2cGheNW

Go to control panel -> programs and features - uninstall the existing Intel video driver.

Restart the system.

javascript:void(0);

It was recommended to extract the setup files from the above download to desktop and install manually, however when I double clicked it ran through an install process successfully - this had always failed before saying the OS was not supported...

Rebooted system and after logging in it ran the Windows Assessment Tool which I have not seen happen when installing the Intel stuff before - kind of interesting.

Previously I had a Microsoft driver installed and now there is the Intel driver Installed (version 20.19.15.4501) so looks like it worked as intended...

Using the newly installed Intel Graphic software I reset defaults just to undo any of the fiddling I had done!  The flickering did slow down a lot but it would still increase/decrease the brightness randomly...  I turned off "enable adaptive brightness" and  this pretty much resolved all the screen flicker/changes in brightness.

Hope that helps
