Dell XPS 13 9365 Wont Auto-Rotate

Hi All

Brand new Dell XPS 13 9365 Wont Auto-Rotate - the sales director is not impressed.

The "Allow to Auto-Rotate" button is greyed out.

Any suggestions?

Does that XPS 13-9365 have the Intel graphics driver Version 21.20.16.4627, A04 installed? Check in the Device Manager.

Hi Chris

Yes it does have that version.

Thanks

Try to force the newer retail Intel 615 4678 driver to install. If it does, see if the auto-rotate works.

Hi Chris, also having the same issue as skinnear2017.  Have done what you suggested and receive the following message when installing the driver direct from Intel - The driver being installed is not valid for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer.

Ok, so the retail Intel driver will not install. This means that you have to use our OEM driver. Still not sure when the auto-rotate broke? Was it working "out of the box"? Did some Windows 10 update happen and then it broke?

Chris

It was one of the first things I tried - so out of the box.

Allow Windows updates to run and install any drivers, reboot, retest. If still no go, contact Technical Support. Ask for a new system exchange if you are still inside the first 30 days from the invoice date.

Did you find a fix?  I'm having the same problem with my new Dell XPS 9365.  The screen will not auto rotate.  I tried reinstalling the drivers.
