Dell XPS 15 9550 cooling design feedback

Just some feedback.

I mostly use my laptop for normal everyday use, browsing, email, watching films and listening music. The laptop is only a year old and it gets very warm without the use of a cooling pad, and that's been the case for several months. I have a Cooler Master NotePal Maker cooling pad which currently has 2 80mm fans fitted, directing airflow over the intake vent. When the laptop isn't being used for more demanding tasks, the cooling pad does a good job of keeping the laptop cool.

Since the exhaust vent is at the rear right where the screen hinge is, I feel the design is pretty poor. I'm hoping Dell will come up with a better cooling system for future XPS releases because the cooling issue is what lets the laptop down imo. If Dell can't come up with a better design (I know it's hard), it would be great if future XPS laptops had the exhaust vent on the side as that gives us the option to use vacuum cooling solutions like the one from Opolar.
