Dell XPS 15 (L502x) Bluetooth Driver "Parameter is incorrect"

I have installed Windows 8 on my Laptop and after installation I have had an issue where I have not been able to install the driver for for the Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 High Speed Adapter because it throws up an error saying that the "parameter is incorrect", please could someone suggest how I can get my Bluetooth working again. Thanks

Hi miwillans

This system is shipped with two types of wireless card:

  • Intel WiFi Link 6200 Wireless-N + Bluetooth 3.0 Mini-Card
  • Intel WiFi Link 6300 Wireless-N + Bluetooth 3.0 Mini-Card

I would suggest you to download and install the appropriate driver:

  • Click on the link http://dell.to/QjjZDA
  • Type the Service Tag of the computer
  • Choose the operating system
  • Click on ‘Network’
  • Check the Bluetooth card that is installed on the computer
  • Click on ‘Download File’
  • Check on the radio box ‘Single-file download’.
  • Click ‘Continue’.
  • Click ‘Save’.
  • Choose the location as desktop, save the file on the desktop.
  • Right Click the file and select 'Run as Administrator' to install the driver.
  • Restart the computer.

In case you do not get prompts on the screen for instructions, then

  • Browse to the folder where the files were unzipped to and locate the setup file
  • Double click on the file; Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

If the above steps do not work, please share the model number of the wireless card. Please share a screenshot of the ‘Device Manager’ window.

  • Press and hold the Windows key and press 'R' key. This will open the run window.
  • Type 'devmgmt.msc' without the parenthesis, click 'Ok'.
  • Expand ‘Network Adapters’.
  • Expand ‘Bluetooth’ (if available).

Please reply for any queries.
