Dell XPS 15 Plugged In Not charging

Hi,

Its showing at the windows right bottom corner as "plugged and not charging". There have been instances like this before but when tried with re-plugging, new socket or restarting, issue had resolved. But this time its not. 

Additionally what i can see in the past few hours battery level is constant at 56%. 

Also I observed the adapter LED die out as soon as the socket is turned off.

Please suggest what could be the possible solution?
