Dell XPS 15z Cypress Trackpad Driver Does not Work with Windows 8.1

I have a Dell XPS 15z.  The cypress tackpad lost almost all functionality after I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1.  (I only have very basic functionality.)  When I previously upgraded from 7 to 8, I also lost this functionality, but I was able to manually reinstall the cypress trackpad driver and it work.  The version of the driver that worked with 7 and 8 was: Input_Cypress_W74_A06_Setup-19VRK_ZPE.

Unfortunately, the manual reinstall of this driver does not work with 8.1.  I also tried to install another version of a Cypress driver that someone suggested for an XPS 12:  Touchpad_Cypress_W814_X00_Setup-FC97X_ZPE.  But that driver also did not work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?   Using the laptop with only basic touchpad functionality is incredibly limiting.  Dell and Cypress need to release an updated driver.  Until then, any help is much appreciated.  thanks.

Try this article. You basically have to download the Windows 7 cypress trackpad driver and manually install the drivers.
