Dell c600
I'm a volunteer firefighter (and certified computer tech), my training coordinator handed me this ancient machine and asked if I could get it working. I assumed some mundane issue, however it turns out the machine had a BIOS password and hard drive password. He purchased the machine at Goodwill for a child's use. I unable to wipe the hard drive as I lack an ide to USB converter.
I was able to bypass the BIOS password however, without the hdd password or setup configuration password I unable to even boot from a CD. I have searched high and low for a workaround, but hdd passwords are "impossible" to crack unless you use an ide sniffer.
As I am unable to provide any real ownership information is there a back door password for the setup configuration within the BIOS so I can at least boot from an alternate media? I know this laptop is ancient, but he is the type that he spent money on it, he wants it working lol. Any help would be appreciated.
