Dell upgrade package failed to install dell wifi driver
Hello,
Since I reinstalled Window8 in my inspiron 3138, the laptop cannot install 'dell upgrade package' and cannot setup my wifi driver.
I cannot install following drivers and the laptop cannot detect wifi at all.
Dell Wirelss 1704 Wifi driver (Network_driver_342TP_WN32_7.35.333.0_A01)
Dell Airplane mod switch driver (Network_driver_PX8MM_WN64_1.0.0_A00)
Do you know how to solve this problem?
Best,
Lucy

Please let me know what operating system do you have at present on the computer. Is it windows 10 or windows 8.1. Because the version that you are trying to install is for windows 10. Also please go to the device manger and confirm the wireless card present under the network adapter option.

Dear Aniketh Sreenivasan,
I've solved the problem with your comment. I had installed window 8.1 when I posted the question. That time the wifi card wasn't found a place in device manager. After I read your comment, I installed window 10, it magically worked. I can use wifi now. The laptop was sold with window 8.1 and allowed free upgrade to window 10. So, it is weird that Dell only offers its drivers for window 8.1.
Thanks again for your response. You saved me!
Best,
Lucy
