Devices not found through USB port
When I plug in a device such as external storage or a digital picture chip to download pictures from my camera, the computer says New Device Found BUT I CANNOT FIND IT TO OPEN IT. It used to show under START, MY COMPUTER with the C drive, etc, but no longer is there.

Post some info on your model, operating system, any error messages, any recent changes to the system. Did you try using Windows Explorer or My Computer to find the attached device?

Hi, did you ever find a solution to this problem? All of a sudden all my USB devices (including a mouse) are not being recognized on my Dell 1545 Inspiron laptop. I have Windows Vista Home Basic (32 bit) on it.
