Display driver stopped responding. Restarted.

Inspiron N7010 laptop.

Screen goes blank with an "bonk" sound, then comes back on in a second or two. This happens all the time, sometimes with long periods between, but sometimes over and over for  so long that I have to shut the computer down. Occasionally, I see a brief error message "Display driver stopped responding", and something about it resetting. The message fades out too quickly to read the entire thing.

Anyone have a similar problem? Any solution?

Hi,

This is a Microsoft issue. Now I would suggest you to ensure the data on the system has been backed up and then try the steps suggested in this Microsoft article.

But if there are any other concerns then just reply to this post along with the service tag of the system sent via private message so that I can check system specifications and assist you further.

Regards,

Try driver 20.19.15. 4404 AO3 that just came out.  It fixed the problem for me.
