Does anybody know if there is any progress with the "crackling sound" fix ?

It seems that there are hundreds of complaints about this issue only from the last 12 months, and much more from recent years. I keep reading about people who received a brand new replacement with the same audio issue.. I don't understand, how can it be that Dell doesn't know it sells buggy laptops with a serious audio issue and nothing being done to fix it?? 

I personally have Dell Latitude, but it seems that the XPS and Inspiron series have the same audio issue.

Any ideas?
