Drivers for upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1

I just bought a new Dell computer (Service Code Service tag removed as per privacy policy>) that had Windows 8 installed.   I have upgraded to Windows 8.1, and now want to be sure all my drivers are up to date.   When I access the Dell Support website for driver downloads, it recognizes my Service Code, and lists drivers to download.   Are the drivers listed applicable to Windows 8 which came installed, or to Windows 8.1 which is currently installed?   How do I ensure that I get the proper drivers for Windows 8.1?

Hi Gtadamsesq,

The Windows 8.1 drivers are available for this system; you can go ahead and install the necessary drivers for Windows 8.1 using the links below, please install the drivers in the same order.

Thanks so much for the listing of device driver upgrade files!
I downloaded and installed all of them with no problem except the one (touchpad driver).
When I tried to install the touchpad driver update, it said that there was already a Synaptic touchpad driver installed, and that the updated drivers might not install properly until I uninstalled the existing touchpad driver.   When I used Control Panel / Programs and Features to uninstall the existing Dell touchpad driver (Synaptics), it said that I needed to first log out and log back in as Administrator.   The computer only has one person registered, and that person IS the Administrator.
Why doesn’t the installation program recognize that the person using the computer IS the administrator?  How do I work around this to get the updated drivers installed?

Helloooo......

Is there an answer to my question concerning the touchpad driver upgrade that doesn't recognize the person using the computer as the Administrator???
