Enabling Hardware acceleration in balance or other types of power-saving mode

Hello there,

It has come to my attention that watching flash videos whilst in balanced power plan or power-saving mode on my laptop would cause a green bar on the top of the video, with the colouring of the video clearly distorted. After some investigations, I found the cause to be the result of the enabling of hardware acceleration in flash. I was wondering if this is supposed to be normal or irregular--meaning that my laptop is somewhat damaged. My laptop is a brand new Dell XPS bought two months ago.
