External Hard drive support for Inspiron 1501
I have an inspiron 1501 laptop with Windows XP. I was wandering what is the maximum hard drive capacity that inspiron 1501 can support on an external hard drive connected via USB? I am currently using 1 TB hard drive and I have no issues with it. Can I use a 1.5 TB or 2 TB hard drive?

Support for external drives is wholly determined by the controller inside the case where the drive is mounted, not the system itself.
