Facial Recognition and PIN issue!!!

Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 (5000 series) and almost every time I open my laptop i get an error message saying that it could not connect to the camera, and therefore i cannot sign in using facial recognition. So, I click "sign in with PIN" and that doesn't work either! I press on the keyboard and none of the keys are popping up in the PIN box. It's as if my keyboard isn't connected either? After trying the PIN, I click on "other options" and go back to facial recognition, which then works. The camera turns on and i'm able to access my laptop. 

This is just a long process to go through for something that is supposed to go by quickly. At this point I'm able to try disabling facial recognition for good and hope that the keyboard issue will fix itself. Any one else with this issue? Any ideas on how to get facial recognition to consistantly work as well as the PIN
