Fan is working but error code 2000-0511 The (Processor Fan) fan failed to respond correctly

Hi,

Could you help, give me advice, share experience?

Laptop Dell Latitude E6530 is clean in perfect condition no dust or etc inside. I have replaced cpu fan with new. Fan is running, but error is occurred at BIOS boot.

I'm able to start Ubuntu OS,  fan is running, but all indicators are showing 0 RPM for the fan. Temperature indicators are looking OK at average values.

When I ran the diagnostics the same thing the new fan is spinning, but 0 RPM detected?

I have older BIOS version A16 and I tried to update with the latest A17
Update is successful and I run again diagnostic tests - NO change the same error again.

Here is part of the output - everything is passed with the exception of  "error code 2000-0511 The (Processor Fan) fan failed to respond correctly"

Did you use an OEM fan, or a generic one?  The Dell fans have thermistors aboard that communicate with the mainboard as to speed/temperature/etc. -- if that thermistor isn't there, the software (and diagnostics) cannot read it.
