Forgot BIOS's password

Hi guys,

I have a Dell XPS laptop:

- XPS 14Z (L412Z, Late 2011)

- Service Tag: <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> | Express Service Code:

Now, i can not remember  BIOS's password which i set before. So, please advice me what should i do to re-new password or remove it.

Thanks so much!

You need to call Dell and verify your ownership of the system.

@ejn63: Thanks

I found this article:  http://www.dell.com/support/Article/us/en/19/52016/EN

But i do not know if my Dell laptop is supported by that solution?

Those instructions were made for a desktop system, with a reset jumper and in which the password is stored in batter-backed CMOS.

On a notebook there is no reset jumper and the password is stored in nonvolatile flash memory.  Removing the battery will do nothing.

Dell will upon verification of ownership issue a system-specific master unlock password.  If you cannot verify you ownership of the system, you'll need the other option - replace the mainboard.
