HDD not recognized on 3.0
I have a HDD, WD. its working on my desktop 2.0 USB port but not here on my laptop 3.0 port. help!! I have only 3.0 ports on my Inspiron 15R.

Hi Kishore,
You might have to use a “Y” cable or a "Booster" USB Cable. It has two USB male ends to plug into 2 USB ports on the laptop, one for power/data and the other just for power. You can find more information on this issue on the Western Digital HDD forum mentioned below.

Well, after a few attempts of constantly pulling out and plugging in the HDD i was able to connect it to my laptop. I think there is a problem with the wire, maybe a loose connection. The HDD was not able to connect to any 3.0 port, in other laptops as well.
