HDMI Problem

I have recently purchased Dell Inspiron 15R 5521N laptop with Windows 8 Pro. When I try to connect my laptop to an Acer monitor with an HDMI cable, it gives me a no signal error. But when the same laptop is connected to a Philips monitor using the same cable, it works perfectly. As usual I thought that the monitor was the culprit, but when I connected another laptop to the Acer monitor using the same cable it worked without any errors. So where does the problem lie. The HDMI cable is OK, the laptop is also OK as also the Acer monitor??? Please help solve this tricky problem

Hi drzeus58,

Welcome to the Community.

I would suggest you to update the BIOS and the video driver. Please click the link mentioned below which will take you to the drivers website:

http://dell.to/QjjZDA

Enter the Service Tag of the computer and choose the Operating System installed on the computer. Please update the latest version of BIOS available.

NOTE: Ensure that the battery is more than 30% charged and the adapter is connected during the BIOS update.

Also, you may click the link mentioned below for the drivers:

Hi drzeus58,

Please keep me posted with the results.

Also, you can install any drivers disk that you may have got with the monitor.

Thanks & Regards
