HDMI sound fluctuates

Hi, I have an Inspiron 15 (3521), and whenever I plug in the HDMI cord, the sound comes out  but when I play a video, the audio fluctuates up and down. So I have to hold onto the remote control to make sure the sound doesn't get too loud at some parts. Is there any way to fix this?
