natakuc4 makes an excellent point there.....:emotion-2:

Just to be on the safe side, you should backup all your important stuff to an external drive.

A Crucial SSD will speed up the performance of your system:

Ok, thank you for your answer. Do you have any advice for choosing the hard drive?

Is it simple to realise the change? I'm really not an expert...

Thanks

It's out of warranty unfortunately.

The model is Inspiron 15R 5537

You can use any standard 2.5" 7 mm hard drive, hybrid drive or solid state drive.

You'll need the recovery media you made when you received the system as well -- or, if you did not prepare a set, you'll need to contact Dell to purchase a set now.

For hard drives, you have three choices - WD, Toshiba and Seagate -- choose from the first two.

If capacity isn't an issue, you can also go with a solid state drive -- front runner there is Samsung.

If the system is under warranty, contact Dell support with the error and they'll replace the drive.

If the system is out of warranty, we'll need to know the exact model (N5110, 5521, etc.) to recommend a replacement for your failed drive.

Just in case, it could help other people...

After having done several checking tools which all indicated me that my HDD was healthy, I just reinstalled Windows: everything works fine now!

Be careful the 2000-0142/2000-0146 show when the drive has failed and although reinstallation of the OS has worked there is a higher chance it will return and the hard drive will fail completely.

Ok thanks, I understand your warnings, prevention is always better than cure.

I bought this computer only 2.5 years ago (with a basic utilisation) and it seems to me that it's a quite short lifetime for a HDD...

But anyway, I checked with CrystalDiskInfo and made a WD Diagnistics, both indicate that my disk has bad sectors and fail the test! I gonna change that disk for more security!

Thanks for your advice!
