Horizontal lines and flickering on Dell Inspiron 1300

Ok my issue is this.  I had to have my laptop fixed and replaced my inverter thinking it was the reason of my horizontal lines and flickering,  but it still does this and was told it was my motherboard, but when the person fixing my laptop, putting new fan in and saw no damage to the motherboard.  Also was told it could be my LCD screen doing it.  I am not a tech savvy person and don't dare try working on my laptop and don't want to buy a new one since I don't have 300-500 without support or 400-600 with support.  The parts are actually a lot cheaper then buying a new one.

The thing is I have no external monitor to hook up to see, that is why I asked which it could be.

To differentiate a board failure from an LCD failure, attach an external monitor.  If the board is bad, it'll show the same fault.  If the panel is bad, it'll show a good image.

Just go to a public library, computer store, etc.  All you need is a 30-second test with a borrowed monitor.

I have no way to borrow a monitor and no not that I know of.  External monitors  that I found are expensive, not even ebay has any.

Borrow a monitor - from  a friend, workplace, etc.
