How do I make a Disk Image backup from an SSD to a partition on an HD?
I have an XPS (W 10) with a 500 GB SSD, I would like to partition a 1 TB HD (5400rpm) and make a disk image in order to backup the system. On the other partition do daily file backups. Is this possible and where would I find out how to partition to ensure it will work?
Thanks
Chris

Reflect is much easier to use. It's also more feature-laden than windows own imaging utility is.

Easiest way is with an imaging utility - there are many of these - some free, some not. For home use, Macrium Reflect is free -- you'll need to make a bootable flash drive, CD or DVD disc - once that's done, you can schedule image backups as you wish to your hard drive. If your SSD fails, boot the recovery media you make and recover the image in a matter of minutes.

You would say don't use Windows options? Macrium Reflect would create the boot disc/usb and then also the backup disc image to the other drive?
