How to Create a Recovery Partition with Image of Windows 7 DVD?

I removed all the partitions when I got my Studio 1535, and recently I wiped the drive and installed Windows 7.

My laptop got screwed as I started a month on holiday, and no Windows 7 DVD with me. I figure the best solution would be a new partition with a bootable image of the Windows 7 DVD. Any suggestions on how to make one?

At the same time, I also plan to install MediaDirect 4.0 (for the first time), so this will have an additional partition.

You can't create a recovery partition for win 7 and Media Direct doesn't work on win 7. Read this.

OK, so I guess I'll just make a image of the DVD.

Don't undertand about MD and W7, surely it is a seperate boot?

I can tell you MediaDirect will work on Win 7 and 64 bit as well. I have all function keys working also. Have MD on M2010 and Quickset is installed. My disk for MD was Vs 3.0. It is a seperate boot as MD is loaded on it's own partition, first on the HDD.
