How to remove the base cover for a Vostro V131 laptop?
I want to upgrade the memory. I have followed the instructions in the owner's manual i.e. remove battery then remove retaining screw.
The next instruction is "slide the base cover towards to the back of the computer".
This does not work. There is a large bar that provides the ports for connections. Can you help, please?

Dell sent an engineer. The rim of the panel had bent upwards. Even when the screw as removed, the pnael remained locked in place. The engineer replaced the panel and fitted the memory for me.

Hi,
Welcome to the community
After removing the screw, instead of sliding the cover, turn the computer upside down to make it fall. Here is the link of manual in case ; support.dell.com/.../om_en.pdf
Cheers!
