I have a lighted keyboard on a (ugh) XPSI I5Z, can I turn it off during the day in my office? Please get back to me as I only have sixty days to return it for a refund to Costco.

I guess I am supposed typing this portion here; however, except for the sensitive "mouse" function, with the lights on on the keyboard during the daytime in my office, I cannot see the silver colored letters on the keyboard (although I have been typing for a LONG TIME) and it is still hard for me to find the Function F8 key for my general typing in corrections.

It would be nice if there is some way to just turn the light off.

lalawyercapata,

The backlit keyboard has 3 settings, bright, dim and off. My system uses the F6 key. My older system used to use the Fn and the arrow key, I think.

Start, control panel, windows mobility center. Click on the little square in the backlit keyboad area. You will see...

There are setting to alo change how long the backlit keyboard stays on.
