INSPIRON 600M
I have a INSPIRON 600M that wont turn on. the power light turns on only for 5 seconds then goes off.
what should I do ?

Unplug the system, remove the battery and hold the power button for 30 sec. Remove and reinstall both memory modules and the hard drive.
Plug in and see if it'll powerup without the battery -- if it will, then try with the battery. If that stops it from powering up, the battery is bad.
If it still won't power up after doing the foregoing procedure, it's likely the mainboard is bad and the system is probably a candidate for being recycled - it's just not worth repairing a system this old.
