Inspirion 1720 Upgraded memory but no difference.
Hi. I just upgraded my Inspirion 1720 notebook from its original 2G memory to 4G. Installation was fine and the computer recognized it. However, I do not see any difference in my computer's performance (how fast the system boots up, loading up a webpage..etc), also the "System rating" is the same as before the upgrade (I refreshed it). I used 2x 2G Buffalo memory. Does any of you know why? Thanks.

Assuming that your laptop has Windows Vista you will not notice any difference unless you have a number of graphics-intensive applications open simultaneously. Windows Vista manages memory very efficiently if there is at least 2GB.
