Inspiron 13 2 in 1 display issues
I have an inspiron 13 2 in 1. I turned it on after not using it for a couple of days. When it boots up the display looks like it has a crack in it and on the right side of the screen it is displaying vertical color bars. It wasn't dropped and nothing was placed on it. When you shut the system off there are no cracks at all. The appearance of cracks are only there after the system boots. Any ideas what is going on?

First thing to do is attach an external monitor. If it shows a good image, the display panel or assembly needs to be replaced. We'll need to know the full model number (i.e., Inspiron 7342, etc.) to recommend a replacement part.
If it shows the same fault externally, the mainboard will need to be replaced.

If it's a touchscreen, you'll need this part;
