Inspiron 13 7000 & 32GB RAM?
I purchased this configuration and wonder if it can be upgraded to 32GB RAM:
- Inspiron 13 7000 Series (Intel) - 7378
- 7th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U Processor
- 16GB Single Channel DDR4 2400MHz (16GBx1)
The service manual @
http://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/inspiron-13-7378-2-in-1-laptop_service%20manual_en-us.pdf
says
The Inspiron 13-7378 has two SODIMM (RAM) slots, which are accessible by removing the base cover.
So, there are two slots: one is occupied with a 16GB SODIMM and the second is empty.
The manual also says
Your computer supports 4 GB, 8 GB, 12 GB, and 16 GB dual-channel DDR4 memory of up to 2133 MHz.
I read this as "16GB DDR4 memory can be used." But, I wonder if Dell means "the total capacity of the computer is 16GB."
According to
http://ark.intel.com/products/95451/Intel-Core-i7-7500U-Processor-4M-Cache-up-to-3_50-GHz-
the CPU supports up to 32GB RAM.
Question: has anyone installed a second 16GB SODIMM, to increase the notebook's memory to 32GB?
