Inspiron 14R Video Hardware problem.

Hello!
I got this problem after i upgraded my Laptop to WINDOWS 8.I installed all the drivers from support page, everything working like-new.
Only my AMD Radeon HD 7450m, i downloaded the drivers from support page, then installing the screen flashes and stay black until i restart the computer, after that the windows won't boot like normally would, the screen keeps flashing forever and the only away to use the computer again is booting into SafeMode and desactivate the video card in Driver Manager.

Few months later, i did have a problem with the HardDrive (Hard Driver " Needle" being stuck) now i got a 300GB HD (1TB to 300GB).

First gave me a BSOD DPC_VIOLATION, cause was old drivers installed, used Driver Fusion 1.7.0 Premium to clean it.
I can install the drivers in safemode using manual installation, like before windows won't boot.
AMD is helping me and could you kindly (lol Bioshock) help me too?

Thanks!

Hi DiVISiONFive,

Disabling the AMD card to use the system is not a permanent solution.

As mentioned earlier, the issue seems to be related to the hardware and you may have to replace the motherboard of the system.

Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.

Hi DiVISiONFive,

Inspiron 14r comes in two variants, Inspiron 5420 and N4110. Please share the exact system model.

You may try running the diagnostics to check for hardware functionality. Refer to the link http://dell.to/GAxNcY for steps on how to run the diagnostics.

Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist you further.

  • Type ‘devmgmt.msc’ in run box and press ‘Enter’
  • Click > sign next to ‘Display adapters’ to expand the options.

I tryed again to do that, glad not BSOD on me this time.
Anyway, i installed the drivers and again manually.

Yes, now Intel HD and AMD don't work.

Translate that to english from portuguese. And this too:

Desactivated and activated then.

Upthere they say Windows stopped then because found problems.

See?Now Intel HD 3000 driver are manufactured by AMD.

(What?Only photos less than 64kb??)

Now then say is working normally.

If Intel HD Graphics 3000 was working my current resolution was 1366-768.

(Sorry about the portuguese pictures, i have a PT OS)

See? Default Resolution is 1024 x 768 there!

AMD Catalyst is not working....

"Is not possible to execute CCC.There's no configuration to be set with CCC."

I will update AMD.

Hi DiVISiONFive,

I will suggest you to disable ‘Driver Signature Enforcement’ and then try installing the drivers to see if it works. The steps are:

  • Open the Charms Bar and select “Settings”
  • Select “Change PC Settings” and then select “General”
  • Scroll to the bottom of the General page and select “Restart Now” under “Advanced Start-Up”
  • Once the PC comes back up, select “Troubleshoot”
  • Select “Advanced Options”
  • Select “Start-Up Settings”
  • Select the Restart button

Look for the option ‘Disable driver signature enforcement’. If for example the 7th option is ‘Disable driver signature enforcement’, press either the F7 key or the number 7 key from your computer to select the option. Pressing either key would restart the computer.

You may also try to disable the windows updates and then uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.

Sorry 'bout the delay.
Same, like i said to AMD, if i activate Intel's HD Graphics after installing AMD's Driver = Screen Starts Flashing with Mouse (Only way to stop it, is rebooting the PC).
There is no update for WIN8 now, i installed all of then.
Bad Luck, i win a game at a giveway (Wolfenstein) playin it with Intel's Hardware is so laggy.
Installing Intel's Driver again to i use PC normally again.

Hi DiVISiONFive,

The issue seems to be related to the hardware as reinstalling the drivers or operating system did not make any difference.

You may try to disable the AMD card in the device manager and then install the Intel driver and see if it works. To disable the AMD graphics, go to device manager and right click on the AMD card entry to disable it.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.
