Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7537TX Base & XPS 15 L502X SSD Questions
I recently purchased an Inspiron 15 7000 series 7537TX Base with
i7-4500U Processor, 16GB Ram, NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GT 750M 2GB DDR5 and 1TB 5400 rpm SATA Hybrid Hard Drive with 8GB Cache
I am thinking about buying a Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5-Inch SATA III SSD to replace the one in the inspiron, but I don't know if it is capable or not.
Also, I have my XPS 15 L502X which works completely fine, but I think the Harddrive is dying. Then I wonder if I could use the 1TB 5400 rpm SATA Hybrid Hard Drive with 8GB Cache from the new Inspiron 15.
So, I have a few questions I hope I could get some information for that.
1. Does the Inspiron 15 7000 series 7537TX Base support Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5-Inch SATA III SSD??
2. Does the XPS 15 L502X also support Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5-Inch SATA III SSD??
3. 1TB 5400 rpm SATA Hybrid Hard Drive with 8GB Cache from the new Inspiron 15, is the XPS 15 L502X support that?
4. I heard the L502X is capable with SSD up to 512GB, what happens if I put a 1TB SSD in there?
I really need some help before I make the decision.
Thanks

The answer to all three questions is yes - you can use a Samsung EVO SSD in the newer system and you can move the hard drive from the newer system to the older one (pending a reinstall of the OS, of course).

Thanks for your information. I searched the inspiron system does not work well with the Samsung 1TB SSD, so if it does not work I will put it into the XPS15. However, the XPS 15 L502X could support the SSD up to 512 GB, I wonder if I could use do that with 1TB SSD.
